Even though it looked like rain all morning and it was cold and windy, we had a great turnout of volunteers on Earth Day. State Senator Jamilah Nasheed and 3rd Ward Alderman Brandon Bosley joined Lillie Clay of the Fairground Neighborhood Association to clean up the native plant parkspace that the St. Louis-based landscape architecture and urban design studio dtls helped create previously. Some folks from dtls joined residents from the community, Sal Martinez from the North Newstead Association and others that were there including Sundy Whiteside. In Whiteside’s own words, “We had awesome volunteers come out–young and older. Some came with tools, and some came with their own Bobcat.” Thanks to everyone that came out and helped!
