We Have Strong Communities!

Every day, we hear news of the toll that COVID-19 is taking on our economy, communities and current way of life. This news is overwhelming and often defeating. But its not all without hope. Every day, people are coming together and lending a helping hand to those around them. What we do at North Newstead Association is just a small snippet of the great work that is happening across our region and my heart swells just thinking of how strong our communities are!

Today, another round of fresh, nutritious produce was delivered to our wonderful partners and residents in the Fairground, Wells-Goodfellow, Fountain Park, and Lewis Place neighborhoods. As of today, over 155 unique individuals and their families have received bags overflowing with collard greens, potatoes, cabbage, onions, bananas, cantaloupe, tomatoes and more.

Thank you to InvestSTL, Fairground Neighborhood Revitalization Organization, Wellston Loop CDC, Lewis Place and Fountain Park Neighborhood Association, and MetroMarket for making all this possible and allowing us to reach more people- especially those who have no other means of getting fresh food at this time.

Additionally, a special thank you to Urban Harvest! For the past several weeks, the folks over at Urban Harvest has generously shared the spring bounty from their Food Roof with us. Paired with our other deliveries, this partnership has served as a catch-all for other residents looking for fresh food.

Another round of deliveries is in the works for next week. If you or your organization would like to help us expand our reach further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you. Be well and take care. 🙂
